This project was undertaken as part of the Software Engineering module at my university. We were given the brief of creating a program that could perform sentiment analysis on companies to determine if their stock price should rise or fall. I was elected project manager for this project, and distributed tasks for the team, while also taking part in development.

This project gave me an excellent insight into project management, as well as working with a team in general. Additionally, I gained a lot of technical knowledge through listening to the ideas and expertise of others, who sometimes had more experience working with particular tools.

Being tasked with organising a project daunting prospect! I researched project methodologies and useful information given in lectures to be able to better manage my team, and I stepped in to help with development when necessary due to the small team size. Our team received a great mark at the end of the project, which reflected our hard work.

To further this project, doing more analysis on the social media data would have been great. Also, if there was availability for using real social media data, this would increase the accuracy greatly - moving away from dummy data.
